About
Erin McDougal
Owner/ Founder
Erin is a firm believer that love always wins, so choosing a life where she has the opportunity to teach people how to better love themselves and others was a natural decision.
Erin’s yoga practice began in 2003 when she moved to San Diego from Chicago and just needed to slow down and breathe. Since her first class, yoga has been an integral part of her life and her love for yoga has been growing ever since. She started her teaching journey as a volunteer for Empowered Minds Yoga where she taught yoga to children in Elementary schools. After moving to Colorado in 2019 she completed her 200-hour teacher training at Asana Studio in Old Town Arvada and became a certified yoga teacher. She is currently enrolled in her 300-hour training with Janet Stone.
Over the years, her studio practice has always been an important part of her life, but being able to take her asana practice anywhere is what most excites her about yoga. You can often find her practicing on a mountain, alongside a river, or at the park. Wherever she goes the practice is there, and this idea is the driving force behind Zen Out Yoga— a yoga business that takes yoga out of the studio.
When she’s not practicing or teaching yoga, you can find her taking care of her babies (11 and 6 but forever her babies), dining out with loved ones, or hiking along a river or up to an Alpine lake. Traveling and getting out and moving is what she does best.
